This is a discontinued model which received rave reviews and cost 1/3 the price of cameras with similar features. I bought this model over less expensive Pentax DSLRs because it had LiveView. It would be nice to be able to focus while using LiveView, but this apparently is not technically possible. I do a lot of macro photography and even though LiveView is a great feature to have, I get by with just the viewfinder most of the time. I can't say enough about their products. I now own a K20D and two lenses: the DA* 16-50 f/2.8 and the DA* 50-135 f/2.8. The programming choices available work well for my needs. Movie mode is nice. There is a problem with clicking sounds while taking movies that seem to come from grasping the unit with a finger on the battery/Sdcard cover while taking movies. I've never had a problem with it leaking underwater (one of my innitial fears), the buttons still all work, it turns on and it ready to use in 3 seconds, it is very small (but not too small), and can go a whole day on one battery as long as you turn it off in between photos (tested in spain, portugal,poland, and prague. Since I just started using the camera, I have not yet utilized it to its fullest capacity, but so far I am very pleased. I like the fact that the camera is water proof so I do not have to worry about using it around water. Also, I like the feature that the zoom lens is encased so the lens does not constantly extend then compact every time you turn it on/off. Overall, for the price of the camera it takes OK pictures. If I wanted great quality pictures I would have bought a more expensive waterproof camera. I did however, buy this camera because it is waterproof. I did not buy it for the intent of snorkling but it will be exposed at some point to rapids, snow, and rain.
